2024 TE Luca Puccinelli Ready For Notre Dame Return
Luca Puccinelli was in South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against Navy back in November and the 2024 Virginia tight end will be back on campus for Saturday’s Blue-Gold Game.
“I definitely would like to meet the new staff and get a feel for them,” the 6-foot-6, 235-pounder said.
The Benedictine standout spoke with Notre Dame tight ends coach Gerad Parker on St. Patrick’s Day.
“He was excited and wanted to get me up to a visit sometime, so it wound up being the spring game,” Puccinelli explained.
“Notre Dame just has rich tradition. The fan base is great. It's a football school. The tradition about it is definitely great.”
Puccinelli’s current offer sheet includes Virginia Tech, Duke, Maryland and East Carolina.
It’s been a busy month for him and an especially busy spring break week.
“We were at Ohio State and we were at UNC, Maryland, Virginia Tech,” he said.
He visited Michigan on Monday, Wisconsin on Tuesday and is scheduled to be at Northwestern on Thursday before Notre Dame on Saturday.
“It's good to get a feel for all the colleges, especially now,” he explained. “With no school, I can really travel and go to the ones that I want to really check out instead of the local ones.
“It's good to get a feel for these, especially at such an early age.”
Puccinelli isn’t quite ready to start narrowing his options down or to start moving toward a decision.
“It's pretty early in the recruiting process, but I think I'll probably have a list down next winter and then commit sometime next spring.”
