WRAPPING UP THE SPRING
Notre Dame will wrap up spring practices on Saturday afternoon with the Blue-Gold Game and over 300 former players are expected to be back on campus.
Quarterback Tyler Buchner will miss the game due to a minor injury as he rolled his ankle walking down the stairs earlier this week, but all eyes will be on Drew Pyne and early enrollee freshman Steve Angeli.
As with every spring game, it’s a big day for the early enrollees as they’ll play in front of the biggest crowd in their career and it’s simply a chance for the fans to see how they stack up. Running back Jadarian Price and Jaden Mickey have established themselves early, while all eyes will be on former five-star linebacker Jaylen Sneed.
It will also mark the first time graduate transfer Brandon Joseph will play inside Notre Dame Stadium. We’re told he’s been an interception machine this spring, so he could provide some fireworks.
Notre Dame’s secondary entered the spring with some question marks and while veteran Cam Hart won’t play, it's a chance to continue to build Clarence Lewis’ confidence and get more work for sophomores Ryan Barnes and Philip Riley along with safeties Xavier Watts and Ramon Henderson.
Defensive line coach Al Washington will be the head coach for the Blue team, while running backs coach Deland McCullough will be the head man for the Gold team.
