2024 RB Davion Gause Recaps Notre Dame Visit
Barely a month after being offered by Notre Dame, Davion Gause made it to South Bend for the Irish’s spring game on Saturday.
“It went great,” the Chaminade-Madonna Prep standout told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
“First, we did a little meet-and-greet with the coaches, the alumni, the former players and some recruits.”
The 5-foot-10, 197-pounder enjoyed hearing from the former Irish players.
“It was about more than football,” he said. “It was about what they did after football, how they networked with other people who went to school at Notre Dame. A little bit was about football.”
He also had the chance to meet with Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.
“It was good,” Gause said of Freeman. “He's a cool guy, hyped up. He's fun to be around.
“They like to run the ball with their running backs and he wants the best of the best in his program.”
Gause also spent time with Irish running backs coach Deland McCullough during the meet-and-greet.
“It was good,” he said. “He's a cool guy, fun to be around also.”
In addition to Notre Dame, Gause has offers from schools like Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Texas A&M and USC among others.
He was impressed with the atmosphere in South Bend.
“The campus was cool,” he said. “It's big. The fans love it. They love the kids, the coaches, the program and the school in general.”
He isn’t sure what’s next for him and Notre Dame, but Gause does expect to be back again in the future.
He doesn’t have any other visits scheduled anywhere else at this point either.
“I'm just focusing on spring football right now.”
