BREAKING | Notre Dame Hoops Lands Grad Transfer
The Notre Dame men’s basketball program has dipped back into the grad transfer market with success.
Marcus Hammond just announced his commitment to the Irish.
The 6-foot-3, 173-pounder comes to South Bend from Niagara, where he led the team with 18.1 points while also pulling in 4.7 rebounds and dishing out 2.9 assists per game last season.
Prior to his announcement, a source on the Notre Dame side of things said Hammond “would be a great get.”
He chose the Irish over Georgetown, Kansas State and others.
Hammond will help replace Prentiss Hubb, who is moving on to a professional career.
“He gives (Notre Dame) another veteran ballhandler, shot-maker and guy who can create off the bounce,” according to a source.
