2024 Saline (Mich.) tight end Dylan Mesman‍ made the quick trip to Notre Dame for Irish Invasion on Sunday night.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder had an impressive performance and felt it was a good decision to get to South Bend.

"I loved all the coaches,” Mesman told ISD. “They were all really supportive of me and taught me a lot of good things. It was a great experience to be here."

Notre Dame tight ends coach Gerad Parker quickly impressed Mesman with his coaching style during the camp. Parker was able to connect with Mesman and the other tight ends, but also made sure to coach them hard.

"He's a great guy,” Mesman said. “He really helped out with all of our drills. He's more of a supportive coach and will always help you while also teaching you lessons. It was great to learn from him."

The four-star prospect made sure to note Parker’s coaching, while also noting where he needed to grow his game. Mesman was also grateful to compete against quality defensive players in 1-on-1 periods.

"One of the main things I was looking for was looking at the people next to me,” explained Mesman. “My footwork is something that can be a key. I have long legs, so it's tough to get used to at times, but I'm getting better every day.

"I loved playing some of the best in the country. It was tough, but I learned a lot from playing against them."

And yes, Mesman had a cheat code for a few reps as his high school quarterback, CJ Carr, threw him a few balls.

"We had a few routes and they both went well,” laughed Mesman. “I caught them easily. CJ is a great guy and he always throws it right where you need it."

The Michigan native will continue his summer camp circuit over the next few weeks as Mesman plans to hit several programs.

"Right now, I have Tennessee coming up next week,” stated Mesman. “I'll be at Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and a few others. We're going across the nation to see what we can do."

Mesman is also staying patient with Notre Dame as an offer from the Fighting Irish would mean a great deal.

"That would change everything,” said Mesman. “My family has a bunch of Notre Dame fans and really support it. It would change a lot."

Offers: Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Minnesota, Toledo and Virginia Tech
