Notre Dame's Commits React to Irish Going to Omaha

June 14, 2022

Notre Dame is headed to Omaha following upsetting No. 1 Tennessee in the Knoxville Super Regional and the future of the Fighting Irish definitely took notice.

We checked in with some of Notre Dame’s commits to get their thoughts on the historic upset.

2022 RHP David Lally Jr.:
“Great team win overall. We came out firing on all cylinders from the first pitch and always stayed locked in. But, the job isn’t finished yet.”

2022 IF Estevan Moreno:
“Notre Dame went to Tennessee hungry and things tend to happen when you go out hungry. They shocked the baseball community. They shocked the baseball community. The doubters thought that they weren't going to take the trip to Omaha and let alone beat Tennessee, but the team wanted it bad enough to make things happen.”

2023 IF/OF Drayk Bowen:
”I think it’s awesome. They beat the best team in the country and should have rightfully hosted a regional and didn’t. The adversity and drive they had to make it to Omaha was incredible.”

2023 RHP Ryan Hussey:
“Notre Dame making it to Omaha shows the potential the team had from the beginning. In reaching that potential, their hard work is not only paying off but setting a high standard for future Irish to live and play up to.”

2023 LHP Tore Indomenico:
”This is what the people needed to see. The Irish were heavily underrated and they proved they are a top team in this tournament. Excited to see what they do in the College World Series.”

2023 IF Chase Krewson:
“Super excited for the team and coaching staff! The hard work these guys put in has shown through their performance- relentless will to win. I can’t wait to see them compete in Omaha! Go Irish!”

2023 LHP Brady Louck:
“I would like to congratulate the players and coaches on the series win over Tennessee. Good luck in Omaha! Go Irish!”

2023 IF Anthony Miller:
”The Irish making it to Omaha is incredible for the university. It’s awesome to see the guys earning the respect they deserve and earning the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage in college baseball. What Coach Jarrett and his staff have done in their tenure at Notre Dame is unbelievable. It gives us commits like myself another reason to work harder. I’m so happy for the players and coaches and can’t wait to get on campus!”

2023 RHP Hagan Ward:
“Coach Jarrett was a big reason I chose Notre Dame and seeing him lead the team through a tough regional and a top-ranked Tennessee team gets me even more excited to be on campus in 2023. I can’t wait to see how they do in Omaha.”
