Micah Bell‍ is making a quick pitstop before hopping on a plane to South Bend later today for his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

“I’m going to Houston today, like right now,” the 2023 Texas cornerback told Irish Sports Daily on Thursday morning.

But the trip to South Bend is the main focus of the weekend.

“I’m most excited about meeting the coaches and getting a good look at the campus to see if I want to go there for the next three to four years,” the Houston native said.

Bell landed his offer from the Irish a few months back and has been in regular contact with cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens, Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden and head coach Marcus Freeman.

“They’re just telling me that they want me to go there basically and how good of a place it is,” Bell said of the message.

“I like all of them. Chad is very eccentric. Mickens is real cool too and Freeman. They’re very relatable.”

Bell is hoping to learn as much as possible about the University and the football program this weekend.

“I do want to see the living situation, like where the football players stay, campus life, what is fun to do there,” he said.

“Then, I want to see how they’re going to use my defense and offense if they want to put me on offense.”

This will be the first official visit for Bell, who sees his speed, knowledge and cover skills as his strengths.

In addition to Notre Dame, Bell earned offers from schools like Texas, TCU, Baylor, LSU, Florida, Michigan and Stanford among many others.

He’s set to make his announcement on July 1st and while he doesn’t have any other officials scheduled, he could make a couple more visits before then.

“I might take an unofficial to Nebraska and I might take an unofficial to Baylor too.”
