2024 ATH Kaj Sanders Thinking About Multiple Notre Dame Trips
The communication between Notre Dame and Kaj Sanders has been frequent since the Irish offered the 2024 New Jersey athlete back in March.
Sanders took an unofficial visit to South Bend a month later and has kept in contact in the months since.
“All of the time,” said the Bergen Catholic star, who could play safety, running back or receiver. “I talk to them probably like three times a week.”
Most of those conversations are with Chris O’Leary and Dre Brown.
“He's great,” Sanders said of O’Leary. “He's always asking how I'm doing, how the family is and if I'm healthy and stuff.
“His personality's amazing. He's such a chill coach. He's one of those people you can actually go to and talk to for advice about something.”
Sanders, who was teammates with current Irish freshmen Steve Angeli and Jayden Bellamy, enjoyed his first trip to South Bend so much he’s already eyeing multiple returns.
“I probably want to take one more unofficial visit before I take an official down there next year,” he said.
He’s considering attending a game this fall.
“I just want to see the energy pregame and then how the coaches are during the actual game and how they communicate with the players,” said Sanders.
“I definitely want to take an official there next year. I just want to see what the life is like as a student-athlete at Notre Dame; go through the whole campus during a slow time and see everything, take it all in.”
Sanders also has offers from schools like Rutgers, Syracuse, Penn State, Duke, Michigan State and Boston College among others, but as of right now, he isn’t sure any other visits he’ll be taking soon.
