2024 Notre Dame QB Commit CJ Carr Returns to Future Home
2024 Saline (Mich.) quarterback CJ Carr returned to South Bend for the third time since giving his commitment to Notre Dame in early June.
The composite five-star prospect has turned into the face of the recruiting class and enjoyed getting around more 2024 recruits on this trip to Notre Dame.
All the visitors spent a large portion of the day playing games, which led to some friendly competition, including a game of cornhole between Carr 2023 linebacker commit Drayk Bowen, 2024 receiver commit Cam Williams and 2023 quarterback Austin Novosad.
“I think just being able to compete with all these recruits was a big highlight of this trip,” Carr told ISD. “We played cornhole for a little bit before we went to dinner. It was really fun.”
Marcus Freeman and Tommy Rees also made sure to give plenty of time to Carr during the visit.
“Being around Coach Freeman and Coach Rees is always great,” stated Carr. “I really enjoy talking to them every trip I make.”
Perhaps the wildest moment of this trip came in the evening as Carr, Williams, Jack Larsen and Jaden Greathouse were given the golden opportunity to cut the hair of Chad Bowden.
And it went exactly how you’d expect.
“Cutting Chad’s hair was awesome,” Carr said. “He’s amazing and was a really good sport about it. He told Jaden if he committed to Notre Dame that he would let him cut his hair, so that’s the reason we got to cut his hair.”
All in all, Carr didn’t need to be sold on Notre Dame, but the Michigan native did admit there was a moment that only further confirmed his decision.
“It really surprises me how quickly all the recruits have become friends,” said Carr. “We have a commits group chat and the only one we were missing today was Brandon (Davis-Swain). Right as a walked in the door today I saw Cam and Jack, and we are already like best friends, messing with each other and also competing against each other was really fun today.”
