BREAKING | 2024 Four-Star OL Peter Jones Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame recruiting is hot.
Marcus Freeman has now matched Shawn Stiffler with four commitments this week as 2024 Malvern Prep (Pa.) offensive lineman Peter Jones has committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder took a visit to Notre Dame less than two weeks ago and left impressed with head coach Marcus Freeman.
“Definitely a great, great, great guy, super genuine, definitely a good person,” Jones said in July. “Knows what he's doing, has an edge to him that obviously everyone respects, brings a lot of energy, but definitely can relate to us.”
Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand has also done a great job on Jones dating back to the winter.
“Seeing Hiestand coach and how the guys love him, it really made it a ‘real’ experience,” Jones said. “He’s just so down to earth and honest with everything.
The four-star prospect has also developed a good relationship with Notre Dame’s Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden.
“Great dude,” stated Jones. “He's easy to talk to. You can obviously see why they have had a lot of success in the 2023 class. He is really good at his job.”
During his visit in July, Jones was able to connect with 2024 commits CJ Carr, Cam Williams and Jack Larsen, which was a likely tipping point as the Pennsylvania native saw he fit in with the core of the class.
“They just kind of explained their whole experience with it, when they realized that this was the best fit for them,” Jones explained. “They were trying to help me. It was definitely nice to see that, 'OK, this is how they looked at it.'”
Jones becomes Notre Dame’s first offensive line commit in the 2024 class.
