BREAKING | 2023 VA DE Armel Mukam Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame has flipped 2023 Woodberry Forest (Va.) defensive end Armel Mukam from the Stanford Cardinal.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder just went public with his decision to play for Notre Dame after giving his pledge to Stanford on June 26th.
Mukam is a classic swing defender Notre Dame has had a ton of success with over the last few years as he is able to play the 5-tech and the 3-tech.
Perhaps the most exciting piece to Mukam’s game is his best football is ahead of him as he’s only played the game for essentially two years and just one full season at Woodberry Forest. Mukam, a first team All-VISAA selection in 2021, grew up playing hockey in Montreal before starting his ascension on the football field.
Mukam will join a loaded defensive line haul that includes Devan Houston, Boubacar Traore and Brenan Vernon.
Woodberry Forest has also been kind to the Irish program in the past as athlete CJ Prosise, linebacker Greer Martini and linebacker Doug Randolph committed to Notre Dame early in the Brian Kelly era.
