2025 DL Michael Thacker Enjoys First Notre Dame Trip
Michael Thacker already has a pair of offers, including one from the SEC and last weekend, the 2025 Indiana defensive lineman was in South Bend to see Notre Dame’s win over Cal.
“It went good,” the 6-foot-2, 260-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “I liked the experience. I liked the energy.
“I got to eat a lot of food, check out the locker room a little bit and I got to walk on the field.”
Th New Palestine High School standout enjoyed watching the Irish beat the Golden Bears 24-17.
“It was a good game,” he said. “There was a lot of cheers going on.”
It was Thacker’s first trip to Notre Dame and he had the chance to speak with a couple key members of the coaching staff.
“I talked to Coach (Brian) Mason and Coach (Marcus) Freeman,” he said.
“(Mason) was just talking about coming back up again.”
Thacker says he will “probably” do just that.
“I’d just want to meet more coaches, I guess,” he added.
The conversation with Freeman was mostly about Thacker’s game last Friday night. The overall impression of Freeman was a good one.
“Very nice, good energy kind of guy,” he said of Freeman.
The history and traditions of Notre Dame had Thacker interested in visiting in the first place and left feeling even better about the University.
He has early offers from Tennessee and Ball State.
“It feels good, but I've just got to keep working though,” he said.
The trip to South Bend was his first visit of the fall and he doesn’t have anything else locked in just yet.
