After receiving an offer from Ohio State in September, Jeremiah McClellan‍ was in Columbus on Oct. 1st, to check out the Buckeyes’ win over Rutgers.

“It's a really big offer to me and my school because we also have two people like other Cam Brown and Kam Babb,” the Christian Brothers College standout said.

“It's just a really big offer and I'm really blessed to have it.”

It was the first trip to The Horseshoe for the 2024 St. Louis wide receiver.

McClellan has had other major offers from months, including one from Notre Dame.

The Irish are in hot pursuit of both McClellan and his Christian Brothers teammate, 2023 running back Jeremiyah Love.

Head coach Marcus Freeman led a contingent of Irish staff members to Christian Brothers during Notre Dame’s bye last week.

“I'm really just blessed to have them interested in me and still have them talking to me,” McClellan said.

“That means a lot. It shows that they're interested and it means that they're definitely going be up there whenever it's time to for me to narrow down my list.”

In-person conversations with underclassmen are limited by NCAA regulations, but the message from the Irish has been consistent.

“Keep working hard and to come up there,” McClellan said of what he’s heard from the Notre Dame staff.

“The quote unquote "Fantastic Four," we're all coming up there for the Stanford game.”

The “Fantastic Four” includes McClellan, Love along with 2023 Notre Dame cornerback commit Christian Gray and 2024 wide receiver target Ryan Wingo, who are also from St. Louis.

“That's just something in the making, we're just feeling out the waters, seeing if we like it or not,” McClellan said of himself and Wingo.

“We're just seeing our opportunities and stuff like that.”

McClellan has already been to South Bend multiple times and is looking forward to getting another look inside the program in a couple weeks.

“Just the atmosphere, the coaching staff and how the players like it,” he said of what he wants to see this time.

“The players are going to tell you everything about the program.”
