Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman spoke on Thursday afternoon as the Irish prepare to head to Las Vegas for Saturday's game against BYU.

On the status of defensive lineman Jacob Lacey:
"He's no longer a part of the team. He will look to transfer probably at the end of the season after the semester is over. That's about it."

On the defensive line rotation following Lacey’s departure:
"I think you'll see Chris Smith playing a little bit more.
