Jeremiah McClellan‍ was back at Notre Dame again on Saturday and the top 2024 St. Louis wide receiver enjoyed himself again.

“Everything went good,” the Christian Brothers College star told Irish Sports Daily. “It was a great atmosphere.”

Reconnecting with head coach Marcus Freeman and wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey was among the highlights.

“I got a chance to sit down and talk with Coach Freeman and Coach Stuckey, so that was really good,” he said. “They basically wanted me to enjoy myself there to see how I it like it at Notre Dame.”

McClellan’s offer sheet includes schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon among others.

But it’s clear the Irish are among the schools that most have his interest.

“I'd probably say Coach Freeman and Coach Stuckey just being there, just building that relationship with them,” he said. “That's most definitely a big factor in it.”

McClellan visited South Bend for a game last fall and was back on campus in March, when he picked up his Irish offer.

“I just love the atmosphere at Notre Dame,” he explained. “The coaching staff, they're a great coaching staff. The atmosphere there is off the chain every time I go there for a game visit or just a regular visit.

“Coach (Chad) Bowden also does a great job of hyping the program up and doing a lot of good things like that.”

McClellan was on hand as his teammate and friend, 2023 running back Jeremiyah Love, announced his commitment to Notre Dame.

“It puts some pressure on me to go there, but not that much,” said McClellan. “I'm still going to make my decision by myself.”

McClellan says Love and fellow St. Louis product Christian Gray, a 2023 cornerback who is also committed to the Irish, will “most definitely” be in his ear.

While he’ll make his own decision, McClellan acknowledged having a pair of hometown friends headed to South Bend does help the Irish. 2024 St. Louis wide receiver Ryan Wingo is another top target for the Irish – and Love and Gray.

“Yessir,” he said. “It most definitely helps me to know I could probably team up with J-Love again and Christian. Having all of us come together - probably Wingo is going to come too if I go - just all us going together at the same school, just win another national championship.

McClellan plans to be in Ann Arbor in a couple weeks for Michigan’s home game against Michigan State and could take a trip to Tennessee soon as well.

In the meantime, he’ll continue to build relationships with Freeman, Stuckey and the rest of the Notre Dame staff.
