2024 DL Peter Pesansky Enjoys "Great" Return To Notre Dame
Peter Pesansky had already made the long journey to South Bend multiple times and the 2024 Florida defensive lineman made it again for Notre Dame’s game against Stanford on Saturday.
“It was great,” said the Jesuit High School standout, who had the chance to connect with Irish defensive line coach Al Washington and defensive line assistant Nick Sebastian. “I got to see everyone, so it was really good.
“Everything they had set up for the recruits was great. The food was great. The presentation was amazing. I had a great day.”
Pesansky camped at Notre Dame in each of the last two summers and took in a game as a youngster years earlier.
He said he and Washington were catching up quickly.
“We didn't have too much time to talk, it was before they had to go out to warmups,” he explained. “He just said he really liked what I've been doing this season. He recognized that I've been playing well and said he's keeping a close eye on me.
“He mentioned how I did really well at camp.”
The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder has been impressed with Washington personally.
“I think he's a great guy,” Pesansky said. “I think he's really down to earth. He's real. I really like Coach Washington.
The Tampa native’s interest in Notre Dame is simple.
“It's Notre Dame,” he said. “It's one of the greatest schools ever. It has everything I'm looking for in my college. It's a good school. It's not easy. They've got a good culture, great culture at that.
“They're a good football team It's everything I'm looking for.”
Despite the loss to the Cardinal, Pesansky enjoyed the opportunity to take in another game inside Notre Dame Stadium.
“I'd been to a Notre Dame game when I was like really young, so I had an idea,” he explained. “It was exactly what I expected; loud. Everyone was just 'Go Irish!' Everyone bleeds green here. I could really feel it.”
Pesansky already has offers from schools like Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Louisville and Coastal Carolina among others.
“I'd say Wake Forest and App State are sticking out and Virginia Tech as well,” he said. “Those are probably my top ones right now.
“I went up to App State earlier this fall. I was at Wake Forest this summer for a visit. And I went to a Virginia Tech game last year and I visited last spring.”
He plans to stay in touch with the Irish and hopes to add them to his list at some point.
“Just see if that offer comes and if it comes, I'll have to really think about Notre Dame as a final decision.”
