2024 LB Sam Pilof Making Second Notre Dame Trip
Sam Pilof has had his eye on the Notre Dame-Clemson game circled on his calendar since the summer.
It’ll be here on Saturday night and the 2024 Wisconsin linebacker will be in attendance.
“Obviously, it's going to be an awesome game,” the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder told Irish Sports Daily.
“It's a big rivalry, so I'm looking forward to witnessing the atmosphere in South Bend and seeing the coaches again.”
The Middleton High School standout made it down to South Bend back in July for the Irish’s BBQ event.
“It was great,” he said. “It was super nice. I hung out with a bunch of other recruits and stuff.
“I got to talk with (defensive coordinator Al) Golden too. It was awesome. I liked that place a lot.”
Pilof’s offer sheet currently includes Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa State and Rutgers.
He’s made a few gameday visits already this fall.
“I've done Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Penn State's White Out,” he said.
And he has at least one more in mind before the end of the season.
“I think I'm going to go to a Tennessee game,” said Pilof. “I'm not sure yet. Then I'll just have to sort of play it by ear, just kind of week-by-week type of thing.”
Pilof has plenty of time before he needs to make a decision, but has a broad timeline in mind.
“I'll probably start narrowing it down after this winter,” he said. “In the summer, I'll probably take some officials.
“So, probably like spring, I'll come up with like my top few or after the officials. I'm not really sure yet.”
