2024 LB Garrett Stover "Real Excited" About Notre Dame Return

Garrett Stover‍ will be back in South Bend this weekend, it’ll be the 2024 Ohio linebacker’s first return since performing at June’s Irish Invasion Camp, where he earned his Notre Dame offer.

“I'm real excited,” Stover told Irish Sports Daily. “I can't wait. Me and my family will be there.”

The Big Walnut star’s first trip to Notre Dame left a huge impression.

“I fell in love with the place when I went there to camp,” he said. “The coaches have stayed in contact. I've talked to all of them. I talked to a lot of them every single week.

“It's just going to be great to see them again. Obviously, I've enjoyed watching them this season. I think it's going to be a battle versus Clemson. I'm just excited all around to see the game day environment and see how they play and everything.”

He’s kept in touch with multiple Notre Dame coaches, including Al Golden, Al Washington, James Laurinaitis and even Marcus Freeman.

“There's a pretty good group of coaches who kind of took me under their wing when I went to camp and everything,” he said. “Mainly Golden and Laurinaitis. I get to talk to Freeman and stuff too, so it's yeah, it's been good.

“In the beginning, it was kind of like what Notre Dame has to offer and everything and just making me understand how special of a place it is. Now, it's just kind of making it seem like I'm their priority and what they can do for me when I'm there. I'm really excited to get there and see what they have to say.”

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder also has offers from schools like Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Minnesota, Duke, Pitt, Kentucky and Cincinnati among others.

Stover, whose cousin Cade plays tight end for the Buckeyes, been to a couple Ohio State games this fall, including the opener against the Irish.

This weekend’s trip will be his first of the fall outside of Columbus and we believe that says something.
