Top 100 2024 PF Royce Parham In-Depth on Notre Dame Official Visit
The sidelines were filled with recruits from all sports on Saturday night as Notre Dame took down No. 4 Clemson and none stood out more than 2024 North Hill HS (Pa.) power forward Royce Parham, who was in South Bend for his official visit.
Parham had taken a few official visits this fall, but he was truly blown away with what he saw over the weekend.
“It was a really good experience,” Parham told ISD. “I really liked the campus, the whole energy from everyone and the game was awesome too.
“After they scored, they lifted up people and they did pushups. I had never seen anything like it before, so it was funny.”
The 6-foot-8 big man also left Notre Dame impressed with the folks in the basketball program. Parham felt he meshed well with the guys on the team, but also the Irish coaching staff.
“I liked all the guys and how the coaches were,” explained Parham. “I liked the facilities too. It was honestly one of the best facilities out there. It’s cool how they split the men’s and women’s into two sides. The weight room was massive. I really liked that too.”
Notre Dame associate head coach Anthony Solomon has led the charge for Parham and the two were able to connect for an extended time during the 48 hours the top 100 prospect was on campus.
“It was a great experience,” stated Parham. “We talked a lot. He took us places around campus and I just had a great experience with him.”
Solomon has become a popular name with Notre Dame’s recruits and it’s no different with Parham. The Pittsburgh native believes it’s Solomon’s ability to connect with young people that separates him from other coaches.
“He’s funny and he knows how to actually talk to kids,” Parham said. “Coach Solomon is just a good person and I really like him.”
Parham also got plenty of face time with Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey, who also left a lasting impression.
“We talked a lot about what my future at Notre Dame could be like,” Parham explained. “We just talked about everything. I had a good time and it was a great experience meeting with Coach Brey.”
The four-star prospect has also taken official visits to Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt and Wisconsin, but he’s not in a hurry to make a decision at this point.
“I’m looking forward to committing after Peach Jam,” said Parham. “Everything can change, but I have time to figure out where I want to visit and go.”
