2025 OL Jake Cook Talks Most Recent Notre Dame Stop
Jake Cook called his experience at Notre Dame for the Irish’s game against #4 Clemson last weekend “awesome.”
The 2025 Ohio offensive lineman was able to walk around the campus in South Bend and eventually chat with Irish assistants Al Washington, Harry Hiestand and Chris Watt.
“They just said I'm looking good, especially for my weight,” the 6-foot-5, 303-pounder said. “I'm doing good. They're going to watch my film and give me a call back. I'm going to come up there and visit them again in the spring. They want me too, so that should be good.”
Cook has early offers from Miami-Ohio, Akron, Ball State, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky and UMass.
Still, the preliminary interest from the Irish has him fired up.
“It motivates me to work harder,” the Westerville North standout said. “Obviously, that's a dream offer of mine, if I can get that. Their biggest thing, what they told me at camp, is they want to see two years of film. We'll see what happens. It's exciting. I'm just going to keep working harder.
“I'm Catholic and with the Catholic school, that's definitely a huge aspect too. I just kind of grew up in Notre Dame…It's awesome down there.
Washington was actually the first coach to ever recruit Cook when Washington was still at Ohio State.
“When he got to Notre Dame, he introduced me to Coach Hiestand and Coach Watt and all those guys,” Cook said of Washington.
Cook will be in Columbus to see the Buckeyes play this weekend.
