Notre Dame Commit Tracker
Talk about ending your high school career in style.
Jeremiyah Love didn’t just score a touchdown in overtime to lead his team to a state championship, the 2023 Notre Dame running back commit scored every touchdown for his team as Christian Brothers College beat Lee’s Summit North 35-28 to claim the Missouri Class 6 State Championship.
Love’s 30-yard touchdown run proved to be the winner after his defense blanked Lee’s Summit North on its ensuing series.
Love finished the game with 212 rushing yards on 14 carries to go with 106 receiving yards on three catches. He ran for three scores and caught two others.
He certainly made a believer out of Lee’s Summit North head coach Jamar Mozee.
“I walked away very, very impressed with Jeremiyah Love,” the former Oklahoma running back told SBLive. “He is uber-talented, if that’s a word I can use.”
AUSBERRY ADVANCES, SETS MARK: Jaiden Ausberry didn’t just help put an end to Arch Manning’s high school career, the 2023 Notre Dame linebacker commit etched his name in the record book of a perennial power.
Ausberry and his University Lab teammates defeated Manning’s Newman squad 49-6 in the state quarterfinals.
In the process, he became the school’s all-time leader in tackles with 384 career stops, passing Dylan Moses’ 381.5. Moses was one of the most highly-touted recruits ever regardless of position before going on to play at Alabama.
Ausberry and Lab will play Dunham in the state semifinals on Friday.
BOWEN, GUYER ADVANCE: 2023 Irish safety commit Peyton Bowen continues to find ways to put his stamp on games even as opposing offenses try to avoid him.
After forcing a three-and-out on the game’s opening series, Bowen returned the ensuing punt 59 yards for a touchdown to set the tone as Guyer defeated Byron Nelson 59-41 to advance to the 6A Division II Region I final against Southlake Carroll this Saturday.
LIMAR DOES IT ALL AS LAKE STEVENS GET REVENGE: A year after losing to Graham-Kapowsin in the WIAA Championship Game, Lake Stevens defeated Graham-Kapowsin 42-28 on Saturday night to secure a return to the state title game.
2023 Notre Dame running back commit Jayden Limar led the way, rushing for 169 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries.
He also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass.
“It was in the game plan all week,” Lake Stevens head coach Tom Tri told SBLive. I remember having a conversation with Cameron Van Til of The (Everett) Herald. We were talking about all of the tools and talents that Jayden has, and I said, 'What he can’t really do is throw the ball.'
"The whole time I was saying that, I was thinking in the back of my mind that we were actually going to try to have him throw the ball this week, and sure as heck it worked. He’s been a special talent for us."
Limar and Lake Stevens will play Kennedy Catholic on Saturday for a shot at the school’s first-ever state championship.
BOWEN, ANDREAN FALL SHORT: Irish linebacker commit Drayk Bowen has been a force in all areas for Andrean High School this fall and again finished with over 100 all-purpose yards (95 rushing, 12 receiving), but Andrean fell to Mater Dei 20-10 in the Class 2A State Championship on Friday.
His high school career may be over, but he won’t be forgotten in Indiana High School Football circles anytime soon.
