2023 Notre Dame ATH Target Brandyn Hillman Previews Announcement

Brandyn Hillman‍ was blown away by an official visit to Notre Dame back in October, but wanted the opportunity to compare what he saw in South Bend with some of the other schools chasing him.

So, the 2023 Virginia athlete made stops at North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Kentucky later this fall.

“They were good,” Hillman told Irish Sports Daily of the rest of his visits during the process. “Great environments.

“I'm happy I got the chance to experience different campuses and really feel out other places.”

And all the while, the Irish remained in constant contact with the Churchland High School star.

“Pretty much on a daily basis,” Hillman said of his contact level with the Irish. “Pretty consistent.”

The message was consistent as well.

“That I'm their guy,” he said of what the Notre Dame coaches told him. “I'm the guy that they want. I'm a big priority in the recruiting process and that South Bend is home.”

That message has played a role since Notre Dame offered him in October.

“It feels good knowing that a program is invested into you the way they are,” he said. “It feels great.”

In a release by his school’s Instagram account on Monday, Hillman announced that he would be choosing from the Irish, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Kentucky and USC.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder could help Notre Dame in a variety of ways, including receiver, running back, Wildcat quarterback or defensive back.

He has scheduled his announcement for Wednesday, Dec. 7th.

That is his mother’s birthday and he chose it as a way to honor her.

“Everything that she sacrificed to get me to where I am now,” Hillman said of why he wanted to do so.

“Nothing that she does goes unnoticed. I just wanted to make sure that it was a special day not only for me, but also for her.”
