RB Commit Jayden Limar Talks "Great" Meeting With Notre Dame Coaches

Jayden Limar‍ was thrilled by the opportunity to host several Notre Dame coaches on Monday morning.

The 2023 Irish running back commit was glad to reconnect with head coach Marcus Freeman, running backs coach Deland McCullough, wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey and tight ends coach Gerad Parker.

But Limar was just as excited for the coaches to meet his family and friends.

“It was great,” the Washington native told Irish Sports Daily. “They met my whole family; all of my uncles, my family friends. They got to meet all of them. It was great, just talking about the future of the program and everything like that.”

Not surprisingly, Freeman made a huge impression.

“That’s my dude right there,” Limar said. “Nothing is rehearsed with him. I don’t know how to put it, but when you’re talking to him, it’s real. It’s authentic. It’s great being able to spend time and talk with him.”

They did talk some football and the Irish coaches let Limar know they believe he can contribute immediately.

“They see me being able to jump in there and be in a supportive role right way and have a place in their offense right away,” said Limar. “They’re giving me every opportunity.

“It’s great. Obviously, they do a great job of getting multiple backs the ball, which is awesome, especially from a freshman’s standpoint. A lot of times teams don’t get the chance to use more than one or two running backs, but I know they do, so that’s dope.”

The Irish recently offered Limar’s younger brother, 2025 running back Jayshon Limar.

“It’s a big thing for me and my family that me and him have the opportunity to play with each other,” Limar said. “It’s definitely a big thing that they’re talking to him too.”

The Lake Stevens High School star said he expected to have an in-home with UCLA on Tuesday and Oregon at some point, although it wasn’t exactly clear when.

“Everyone else, I kind of stopped listening, but those are closer to home, so I still listen when they reach out,” Limar said of the Bruins and Ducks.

Still, he classified his commitment to the Irish as “strong.”

“We’re going to see what happens. I’ve still got a couple more weeks to go. Right now, it’s strong, I feel good, especially after the meeting.”
