Notre Dame special teams coordinator Brian Mason spoke on Sunday afternoon as the Irish prepare for South Carolina.

On assessing end of year special teams rankings:
“There are a couple different ways we try to analyze or grade our special teams. From a year-end standpoint, we look at the FEI analytics. We always want to be the No. 1 special teams unit in the country. The objective way I think to look at that is the FEI analytics which is done by Football Outsiders.
