Brandyn Hillman "Can't Wait" To Get To Notre Dame

Throughout the recruiting process, Brandyn Hillman‍ has been understated.

Even in late-September, when the 2023 Virginia athlete was one of the hottest prospects in America, receiving offers at a dizzying pace, he took it all in stride.

So, it was no surprise that the Notre Dame commit was understated when asked what it meant to know he was the reason Marcus Freeman stopped by Churchland High School on Monday.

“It feels good,” Hillman said flatly. “I really don't have too much to say. I'm not one of the guys to kind of boast around, 'I did this. I did that.' So I'll just say it felt great.

“It felt good being that he's the head coach of the football program. It felt good being that he took a flight out to Portsmouth, Virginia to come see one of his commits. It felt amazing.”

Freeman, who was joined by Irish defensive coordinator Al Golden, had a simple message for Hillman.

“He just can't wait until I get on campus,” Hillman said of the conversation with Freeman. “He told me to finish the school year strong and he can't wait until I get on campus. He kept pushing it to me him and Coach Golden.”

Hillman was recruited by the Irish as a pure athlete. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder could help at running back, receiver, Wildcat quarterback or defensive back.

He will officially sign with the Irish in less than a week now and couldn’t be more fired up.

“I'm really excited. 1,000 percent committed. I can't wait to be a part of the program. I can't wait to be a part of this rich program, not only just football, but the school. I just can't wait to be a part of the program.”
