The four-star quarterback committed to Pitt at the end of April and didn’t give Notre Dame too much attention until the fall. Minchey made the decision to decommit from Pitt on November 14th and quickly set up an official visit to Notre Dame on November 18th. It didn’t take long for Minchey to make his final call as he committed to Notre Dame on November 22nd.

Minchey is one of the most accurate passers in the recruiting class and his touch is elite. If he had played his full senior season, I think he could have blown up, but fell a bit under the radar because of that.
That’s to the benefit of Notre Dame who landed a quarterback who I think has the tools to do everything they ask in their offense.
This isn’t nearly a take to fill a spot. Minchey has the potential to be a starter for the Irish and with the right talent around him, one of the best efficient passers in college football.
