Notre Dame Football Early Signing Period | Athlete
Notre Dame’s staff proved in year one of Marcus Freeman that they wouldn’t leave any stone unturned and that’s exactly how one of the country’s most electric athletes ended up signing with the Irish. Virginia athlete Brandyn Hillman was a late addition to the national scene, but Notre Dame quickly made him a priority and the rest his history.

Recruitment Rundown
Hillman’s recruitment took off in a hurry once he decided not to play quarterback in college. Notre Dame led the charge with an early offer this fall and quickly got him on campus for an official visit two weeks after offering. Hillman took visits to Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech before committing to Notre Dame in early December.

I think his ceiling is sky high, which is exactly why Notre Dame is taking a player who doesn’t have a defined position. You simply can’t deny his speed and twitchiness.
I’m not sure where they will end up playing him and as I was watching him I wasn’t trying to think of comparable prospects, most of whom played offense in college. The player he reminds me the most of as an athlete is Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who was as hybrid as you can get in high school.
I could see him developing into an outstanding nickel defender who can play multiple roles in a defense, but I think he has the chance to be very good no matter what side of the ball he ends up on.
His upside is as high as almost anyone they have committed in this class. It just may take a while to find his fit and for him to reach his ceiling.

“It's one of the top schools in the nation, so that pretty much speaks for itself. They hold themselves accountable in the classroom, so I love that.”
