AAB | Notre Dame CB Signee Micah Bell Calls Experience "A Blessing"
SAN ANTONIO – Micah Bell may not have had to travel as far as many of his teammates, but the 2023 Texas cornerback is grateful to be here as part of the All-American Bowl.
“It’s a blessing, that’s all I can say,” the Notre Dame signee told Irish Sports Daily on Tuesday.
“It’s a blessing.”
After the first practice of the week, Bell was upbeat.
“I think it went pretty good as far as a first day, coming back two-a-days, in the heat of San Antonio,” he said. “I think it was a good first day of practice.
“I think I did pretty good. I allowed one catch and I was right there, so I think I had a good day.”
Bell has spent time at both safety and corner as part of the West squad.
“We’re just rotating, seeing what we like, seeing what we don’t like, seeing where we’re comfortable,” he said.
The Houston native believes this event will help prepare him for his college career in South Bend.
“Just to compete, seeing what college is going to be like, going against college-caliber athletes,” he said of his goals for the week.
“Just getting ready for college, the next level.”
He cannot wait to get up to South Bend for good.
“I’m very excited,” said Bell. “I just wish I could be there right now. Unfortunately, I have to stay at school, but that’s alright. When I get there, I know it’s going to be a good time.”
He’s grateful for the opportunity to play on the same team as future teammates Drayk Bowen and Sullivan Absher.
“Really good. I haven’t had much of a chance to talk to them because we’ve been in our own individual groups, but when we get back to the hotel, we’ll do some more bonding.”
