Chanz Wiggins‍ hasn’t heard a ton from Notre Dame recently, but the top 2024 Virginia wide receiver knows enough about the Irish that he would certainly still consider the Irish.

“They have a great offense,” Wiggins said from the National Combine in San Antonio last weekend. “They like to pass the ball and they need some receivers.

“Plus, I keep in touch with the QB who is committed there for 2024.”

Wiggins, who visited South Bend back in 2021, has caught passes from Irish quarterback pledge CJ Carr at camps.

“Me and him had a good connection when we camped and then I loved like the campus because it's historic and everything,” said Wiggins. “I like a little bit of history.

“I didn't really get to see much because it was a gameday visit, but I just saw the campus and everything.”

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Wiggins dominated the National Combine and currently has offers from schools like Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Penn State, Pitt, Duke, North Carolina and Yale among several others.

“Right now, I'm paying a little bit more attention to Penn State, Duke, Virginia Tech, Pitt, West Virginia, UVA and UNC,” he said.

Wiggins expects to cut his list sometime this spring.

He wants to major in Engineering and academics will play a big role in his final decision.

“What I want to major in and then having a good connection with my mom because my mom's a very important part,” he said of what will be most important.

“If she trusts them, then I can trust them myself. And then having a good team offensively, having a pass-happy offense.”
