Karson Hobbs‍ has been to Notre Dame multiple times over the past few months and will be back several more in the months to come.

The 2024 cornerback commit made the trip out to South Bend on Saturday for the Irish’s Junior Day event.

“It was amazing,” Hobbs told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

The Ohio native was able to connect with fellow commits CJ Carr, Aneyas Williams, Cam Williams, Jack Larsen, Peter Jones and Owen Wafle.

“I’d already met three, but we met back at the Clemson game and haven’t all been back since,” he said. “It was a great reunion and overall a great day and a great time.

“We were going into defensive meetings, offensive meetings. We got to see how the weight program works, how the nutrition. We really got to lock in and have individual time with our coaches. We got to eat with all of the players. Then, we got to do photoshoots and the videos and all of that.”

Hobbs was also active in speaking with some of the uncommitted visitors in town, especially 2024 Indiana athlete Brauntae Johnson and 2025 Ohio athlete Dorian Brew.

“When you give people all of the reasons and all of the facts in the world, how can they say no?” Hobbs said. “It’s hard to say no to Notre Dame when they’re knocking at your door. I think a lot of these young kids know that.

“The 4 For 40, education and with the football program and staff we have, they’re very flexible.”

Hobbs believes the opportunity to play defensive back for the Irish is especially appealing because of the rotation in the secondary.

“As a young DB, it doesn’t get better than that,” he said. “Not only can you play corner, you can play Nickel and if you can’t play Nickel or corner, you can play safety. You have options. That’s one of the best parts.”

Uncommitted targets should anticipate continuing to hear from Hobbs.

“I’m going to bug the mess out of them,” he laughed. “They have to come. They have to. I’m going to bug the mess out of them.”

As for himself, Hobbs plans on coming to Notre Dame often this spring.

“I’m coming back once or twice every weekend during the spring to try to learn the defense and get started early.”
