Stone Saunders‍ has been on the national map for over a year now, long enough that’s strange to think the Pennsylvania quarterback is just in the Class of 2025.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder from Bishop McDevitt certainly has an impressive offer sheet with over a dozen scholarships from schools like Georgia, Michigan, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Pitt and Rutgers.

“It's been going really good,” Saunders told Irish Sports Daily. “Since the season ended, I picked up Colorado and Nebraska offers and got to talk to their coaches a while.”

Those offers provided Saunders with the opportunity to speak with two of the most high-profile head coaching hires this cycle – Deion Sanders and Matt Rhule.

“Coach Prime was cool,” Saunders said. “I got to talk to him on the phone. He's definitely a character and somebody I could see myself like playing for maybe.

“I got to talk to Coach Rhule for a while. He was cool. I love their offensive coaches and everything about Nebraska. It was just a really big football town obviously. They haven't had a game that wasn't sold out for a while. It's going to be a cool visit when I go up there. I think late-January, I'm going to go visit Nebraska.”

During the season, Saunders had the chance to visit Georgia, Wisconsin and Clemson.

In addition to Nebraska, he wants to get to Ohio State, Kentucky, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee and Clemson.

He spoke with Notre Dame offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Tommy Res last summer and is hoping to reconnect again soon.

“He wanted me to come down to camp,” Saunders said. “I just couldn't fit in my schedule yet. I think I'm going to go reach out to them and see what Notre Dame's all about sometime soon.”

One thing Saunders will be looking closely at when choosing a school is the coaching staff.

“That's a big thing for me and if they can develop me to be the best player I can be in college,” he said. “Then, just really checking out the town and having my family seeing what they all think about it.

“I'm hoping to commit before next season just to get it out of the way and get a good recruiting class for my class coming into college. Top five maybe spring, summer, and then committing before the season would be great.”
