2024 OL Kyle Rakers Hoping To Hear From Notre Dame

Kyle Rakers‍ feels blessed to have some big-time offers already, but the 2024 Iowa offensive lineman isn’t done working.

“It's nice just to have options,” the Dowling Catholic High School standout told Irish Sports Daily.

Rakers currently has offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska and Northern Illinois.

“I'm really grateful to have all those great options and then having the potential to have more, I feel lucky,” the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder said. “Knowing all these coaches are believing in me and see something in me means a lot to me.”

Coaches like the blend of size and ability they see from the West Des Moines native.

“Really just my athleticism mainly for my size,” he said. “That's something they like to see. They see they could put some weight on me and I could play center in college. I think that could be a good spot for me.”

Rakers said the interest spiked during the summer camp season last year. He had the chance to make multiple gameday visits during the fall and is currently sorting through invites to various Junior Days and basketball games.

He hasn’t heard much from Notre Dame yet, but has worked out with Irish offensive line signee Charles Jagusah and some trainers who have connections to the Irish.

It’s certainly a school he’d love to hear from.

“Catholic school, I go to a Catholic school, so that's somewhere I could see myself just continuing with that,” he said. “I'm Catholic, so seeing myself there, that's a big thing. That's huge.

“I'd definitely be interested if they ended up reaching out. I'm way into culture, whether that's success or with the coaching staff and everybody, the people in the program. Notre Dame, obviously they've had a lot of success and that's a big thing.

“So, I'm looking forward to that and love to see that.”
