Top 2025 WR Taz Williams Planning to Visit Notre Dame Soon
2025 Red Oak (Texas) receiver Taz Williams is a name Notre Dame fans should start to get to know.
The 6-foot-1 175-pounder has been a hot name in Texas over the last two years and Williams is starting to gain attention from across the country as he holds a national offer list following his sophomore season.
Notre Dame receivers coach Chansi Stuckey has already started to make Williams a priority and it’s paid off as Williams is looking to get to South Bend this spring.
“I’m looking at getting to the spring game and then I might get up for practice too,” Williams told ISD. “I want to see how physical they are and how the receivers operate. I’m just trying to see the vibe of the team and the coaches. I also want to see how they treat their players.”
Stuckey made his presence felt in Texas by taking three receivers from the Lone Star State in 2023 and he now has his sights dialed in on Williams.
“I like Coach Stuckey a lot,” explained Williams. “I like his vibe. I really like the relationship we have right now. He seems like a cool dude.”
Williams has yet to report an offer from Notre Dame, but the explosive athlete in Texas is a prime candidate to receive one during the annual St. Patrick’s Day offer spree.
“He’s told me to be patient and to keep working,” Williams said. “He said everything will fall into place for me in the future.”
When it comes to the offseason, Williams is focused on track and improving his game before spring ball starts.
“I’ve been lifting every day and hitting the track,” Williams stated. “I’m working on my catching because you can never go wrong with that. I’m also trying to polish my route running and trying to get bigger.”
Williams holds over 20 offers entering the second semester of his sophomore year and the early attention hasn’t caught him completely off guard as he saw it coming before he even entered high school.
“I knew it was coming when I hit eighth or ninth grade,” Williams explained. “My mindset changed and I knew it was coming. I just had to stay patient and keep working. Then since this past summer, it’s just been crazy.”
In fact, Williams made the switch to receiver after playing running back and defensive back growing up. The change has worked out well to say the least.
“All my offers are at receiver, but I can definitely play defense too,” laughed Williams. “I play defensive back for my school too. I’ve played DB my whole life.”
As Williams plans his spring schedule, the Texas native hopes to add a few more offers to his already impressive list.
“I’d probably say a couple schools,” said Williams. “Colorado, Florida, Ohio State, USC and West Virginia.
