Notre Dame Recruiting | The Week That Was | 3.6
Notre Dame extended a few offers this week, including one to a player who visited after the dead period was lifted, allowing for prospects to get on campus again.
IRISH ADD MORE 2024s TO BOARD: 2024 Georgia receiver Isiah Canion reported an Irish offer following a trip to South Bend on Sunday.
The Warner Robins High School standout just received his first offer in the middle of last month - from Indiana. He’s since added Penn, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, UAB, Jackson State and Georgia Tech along with the Irish.
His offer sheet proves he’s a serious student and the fact that he made the effort to get to South Bend prove he’s serious about the Irish. It’ll be interesting to see where he falls on the Irish’s board at the position.
Notre Dame also offered 2024 Texas defensive back Oliver Miles III. The El Campo High School star believes Notre Dame could be a great fit based on conversations with Irish Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden.
“I feel like it could benefit me a lot in the future,” Miles told ISD. “He said I would graduate with a degree compared to Harvard.”
Miles said he plans on making a visit to South Bend sometime in the coming months.
He hasn’t truly dove into the recruiting process too deep yet, so things will likely move fast as spring turns into summer.
Notre Dame also extended an offer to 2024 Georgia linebacker Devin Smith, joining a group of suitors that includes Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others. He’s already visited multiple schools in the Southeast region, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Irish can pique his interest.
ND KEEPS IN CONTACT WITH TOP TARGET COMMITTED ELSEWHERE: Notre Dame continues to build an impressive list of prospects scheduled to visit this month and next, but none turned more heads last week than Kaleb Beasley.
The 2024 Tennessee cornerback (pictured above) was seriously interested in the Irish for some time before committing to the in-state Vols. But it’s become clear that interest remains on Beasley’s part and certainly remains on Notre Dame’s. Beasley confirmed plans to be back on campus April 1st.
Other prospects to set visits include 2024 Texas linebacker Payton Pierce, 2024 Florida cornerback Jon Mitchell and his teammate, 2025 receiver Jaime Ffrench, 2024 linebacker Brian Huff, 2024 offensive lineman Caleb Brewer, 2024 safeties Marquis Gallegos, Kennedy Urlacher and Davis Andrews and many others.
IRISH MAKE IMPRESSION ON 2024 D-END: 2024 Tennessee defensive Cameron Clark visited Notre Dame this past weekend and ISD’s Matt Freeman caught up with him afterward.
Clark, whose offer sheet includes schools like Notre Dame, Duke, Louisville, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Pitt and Virginia Tech, spent time with Marcus Freeman, Al Golden, Al Washington and other staff members and said the visit was his best to date.
