2024 LB Naki Tuakoi Staying In Touch With Notre Dame
The contact between Notre Dame and Naki Tuakoi hasn’t slowed at all since the Irish extended an offer back in October.
The 2024 California linebacker says he speaks with the Irish “every day” with Al Golden leading the charge.
“Yeah, he's hitting me up constantly,” Tuakoi says of the Irish defensive coordinator.
“He's always giving reasons why I should go to Notre Dame and he explains how the environment is and everything.”
Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden remains in consistent contact as well.
“He's always talking about Notre Dame,” Tuakoi says of Bowden. “I got on a zoom call with him once and he was explaining how Notre Dame even after college football and whether it be the League or not, they'll take care of me and I'll be good.”
That message is hitting home with the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder.
The next step is taking a visit to South Bend.
“We’ve got to take a trip up there,” says Tuakoi, who adds he may not take the visit as part of a large West Coast group.
The Fremont Senior High School standout has more than a dozen offers from schools like USC, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Utah, BYU, Oklahoma and others.
Along with the Irish, Tuakoi says he’s in consistent contact with coaches at USC and Oregon.
He’s planning to be busy in the coming and mentions possible trips to USC, UCLA, Utah, BYU and Arizona in addition to Notre Dame.
He expects to make his final decision either shortly before or shortly after his senior season.
