2025 WR Cooper Perry Sets Notre Dame Visit

2025 Notre Dame Prep (Ariz.) receiver Cooper Perry‍ has been dialed in on training for next season, but he’ll make the trip to South Bend at the end of the month to get his first look at Marcus Freeman’s program.

“Everything is going well and I’m getting ready for next season,” Perry told ISD. “Recruiting is also going great. I had the opportunity to get on with Coach (Chansi) Stuckey and talk to a bunch of Notre Dame guys. I’m really excited to get up there in two weeks.”

Stuckey and Freeman have quickly impressed the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder as the message has been the same over the last month.

“He’s a great coach,” Perry said of Stuckey. “I spoke to Coach Freeman too. They all emphasized family. What I’ve been getting is Notre Dame is a big family. It’s about the little things.”

The trip to Notre Dame is one Perry and his family have had circled on the calendar. Perry’s father grew up on the East Coast and attended Notre Dame games as a child.

“Notre Dame is a great opportunity to get up there and tour everything,” explained Perry. “My dad and grandpa were very big Notre Dame fans. I’m actually bringing my dad, so being able to bring him and for him to see everything, I know he’s looking forward to it.”

Oregon has also hosted Perry in 2023 and Arizona State has recruited him hard, but it’s clear Notre Dame has made a significant effort early in his recruitment.

“Right now, I have a great relationship with Arizona State,” stated Perry. “Coach Stuckey and I talk around three times a week and Coach Carter Auman, I’ve built a great relationship with him over the last month. Notre Dame has been pushing the hardest and I feel they already value me even as a sophomore.”

Perry’s recruitment is just beginning as he holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado State and Oregon, but he likes the similarities between his high school and Notre Dame as they both value education and faith.

“Notre Dame Prep and Notre Dame are similar,” Perry said. “Both are faith-based education and big on academics. There is a lot in common there. Honestly, looking at that is really cool to see because it wouldn’t be that big of a transition. Academics are really hard at my high school and it is the same at Notre Dame.”

As for a decision, Perry hasn’t given much thought to it as he looks to build his offer list and visit schools to get a feel for what he’s looking for in a future program.

“I’m definitely going with the flow right now and trying to get my recruitment open,” said Perry. “As far as committing and everything like that, I have no idea. I’m just trying to see where it takes me and go from there.”
