It’s been in the works for some time, but on Friday, Quincy Porter‍ announced he’d received a scholarship from Notre Dame.

The 2025 New Jersey receiver’s announcement comes as part of the Irish’s Pot of Gold blitz on St. Patrick’s Day.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder’s offer sheet also includes schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Kentucky and Oregon among others.

Bergen Catholic head coach Vito Campanile says there’s no doubt Notre Dame is going to be a school Porter gives a real strong look.

“Oh God, yeah,” Campanile says. “Absolutely. Great fit, great fit.”

Notre Dame isn’t the only school he’s considering.

“The Stanford thing's got his eye a little bit because that side of it's important to the family,” says Campanile. “Like a lot of these kids, he's a good student.

“Obviously, Michigan is the same type of place that way where it's a good school. He's still got a little bit of time to go.”

But Notre Dame finds itself in a strong position already.

In fact, Porter already has a visit to South Bend set.

“He's coming out April 12th,” his coach says. “He's going to a practice.

“He's going to do Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State over spring break and then kind of take it from there.”

Porter was a freshman receiver when current Notre Dame quarterback Steve Angeli was a senior playing for Bergen Catholic and Campanile.
