2025 LB Dom Hulak Talks Notre Dame Offer, Upcoming Visit

Things have picked up quickly between Dom Hulak‍ and Notre Dame and have progressed to the point where the 2025 Illinois linebacker will be in South Bend on Saturday with an Irish offer in hand.

“It all started off with Coach (Bill) Krefft that I had to call them,” says Hulak, referring to his head coach at IC Catholic Prep.

“I'm not exactly sure, but I've been calling them for about four weeks every Wednesday, and then all of a sudden they just offered me. I was super surprised. I was excited. I didn't know what to say. It was surprising.”

The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder announced the offer last Friday as the Irish’s St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold push.

“It's just Notre Dame,” he continues. “I would've never imagined getting offered by Notre Dame, but once I saw them wanting me to call them every week, I saw that they were interested. I was like, 'Shoot, maybe.' I just kept working harder and then all of a sudden I called them and they offered me. So, all of it worked out pretty much.”

Hulak, who also has offers from schools like Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa State and Purdue, has been keeping in touch with Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden and Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden.

“They just really liked how I played at linebacker and they saw my film and were super stoked about it,” he says. “They can't wait for me to come down the 25th for a visit. They're super excited.”

This will be Hulak’s first visit to Notre Dame, so he’ll be looking to see everything, including campus.

“I know I'll have questions about academics and stuff, but the football team too, how they practice, how practice goes and stuff and just how the day of a Notre Dame player goes,” he says.

He’s got a couple other trips set this spring as well.

“I'm going to Wisconsin April 1st and the University of Iowa April 8th” he says.

He has a broad idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“I know academics is going to be a big thing too and just football overall. How the path I choose paves the way for my future.”
