2025 CB Blake Woodby Says Notre Dame Is One Of His Favorites
Blake Woodby has been in frequent contact with Notre Dame – specifically cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens and Director of High School Scouting Dre Brown.
On Friday, the 2025 Maryland cornerback announced he’d received
“As we've been growing our relationship more, they told me that they were extending me an offer,” the St. Frances Academy star recalls. “But their best recruits, they want them to post it on Pot of Gold Day, which is on St. Patrick's Day.”
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder was fired up to add Notre Dame to a list of offers that also includes Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, LSU and USC among several others.
“I definitely was very excited to get a Notre Dame offer,” says Woodby, who goes by Bobble.
“Notre Dame is probably one of my favorite colleges, watching them growing up, just because they did things completely different than most colleges. They're Independent, they're not in a league. They're very prestigious as far as academics. I'm also a very religious person, I'm Christian, so that is a really big thing for me.
Woodby also appreciates the fact that Brown and Mickens were “very transparent” in their earliest discussions.
“They're very honest people,” he says. “They let me know how they feel straight up, and that was something that most college coaches don't usually do. I definitely appreciated that.
“They told me that they really loved watching my film and, that they wanted me to come to Notre Dame, and that was just a big thing for me. They just made me feel like I was a priority, and I really appreciate that.”
Woodby is looking forward to continuing to build relationships with the Irish staff and already has his sights set on visiting South Bend.
“Definitely getting up on campus very soon,” he says. “I don't have an exact date right now, but I'll definitely be up there sometime to catch their winter, spring practices. So sometime probably the end of March or mid/early April. I'll definitely be up there sometime then.
“I just want to keep on talking to them, keep getting a good feel for the environment that Notre Dame has. I definitely can't get a feel for that, unless I get up on the campus. So, I definitely want to, go and get up on the campus and keep on relationship with the coaches.”
He also plans to hit Boston College, Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State this spring.
