2025 S Remington Moss Talks Notre Dame Offer, "Mind-Blowing" Visit

April 2, 2023

Remington Moss‍ didn’t just leave South Bend on Saturday with an offer from Notre Dame.

The 2025 Virginia safety also left with a great appreciation for the Irish program and the people within it.

“It was great,” Moss told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I enjoyed it. The facilities are nice. The campus is nice. The head coach is good. The defense is nice.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder watched the Irish’s practice and afterward, safeties coach Chris O’Leary informed him of the news right there on the practice field.

“I was ecstatic,” Moss said. “I was hyped.

“(Coach O’Leary) is a great guy. He just had a kid. It's crazy. I just found that out when I was up there. He is a great guy, great coach. I like what he's doing.”

The St. Michael the Archangel Catholic star also has offers from schools like Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Duke, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Wisconsin and South Carolina among many others.

He had a brief chat with head coach Marcus Freeman and a lengthier discussion with defensive coordinator Al Golden.

“He told me, I'm the type of player they're looking for,” Moss said of Golden. “He was like, 'We just need you to come up here. I feel like this be a great fit for you. Notre Dame's pretty elite.'

“They're very elite. They'd offer me a great education and I'd get to play for a championship as well. That's great to be around.”

Moss sees the fit for himself.

“Most definitely,” he said. “I loved it there.”

He’ll be back for another visit this summer.

“Honestly, I'd really just like to be around the coaches more, have more one-on-one time with the coaches,” he said.

First up, though, are some more spring visits.

“Next week, I have Tennessee the 6th, Rutgers the 8th, Ole Miss the 11th,” he explained. “The Virginia Tech spring game the 15th. And that's it for now.”

The Irish certainly seem to have cemented their spot toward the top of Moss’ list.

Asked to sum up Notre Dame after seeing it for himself, Moss simply said, “Mind-blowing.”
