Karson Hobbs‍ seems to enjoy Notre Dame each time he returns and the 2024 Irish cornerback commit was back in South Bend this past weekend.

“Oh man, it was so much fun,” Hobbs told ISD afterward. “I had a great time as always.

“I got to get deep into the meetings of what the playbook looks like, I got really get a good chance to just hang out with Coach (Mike) Mickens and his family. We all went out to dinner that night. Overall, I just had a great time.”

The Ohio native brought one of his best friends from home to experience everything as well.

“He's a big Notre Dame fan and like my brother,” Hobbs explained. “He got to come up and see what an experience I'll be playing in and stuff. He loved it.”

And he got to meet a new friend as well in fellow 2024 Notre Dame cornerback commit Leonard Moore.

“That's my guy,” Hobbs said of the Texan. “We're going be rooming together. We're definitely going to room together.

“The first time we ever met, we just clicked. I can't explain it. That's really my boy.”

Hobbs also truly enjoyed the time he spent with Mickens.

“Coach Mick is going to be Coach Mick,” he said. “Great guy, great coach. He's produced the best DBs in the country. We're going to be calling it all around the country the new DBU.

“Going to practice and seeing how we looked against the wide receivers, absolute strap. A lot of the corners, they all play under his room, you just see what we do from a day-to-day basis in practice, just wait until this season. We've got a lot of talent coming back and I saw a lot of great corners in that room.”

But the thing that sticks out over everything else to Hobbs about Notre Dame is the bond between the people within the program and he didn’t hold back when explaining.

“I've been around a lot of the places in the college football world,” he said. “It's not one of them fake brotherhoods.

“I'm going to say the names like Ohio State and Michigan, if you want to go to those places and play just football, you can go do it. But at Notre Dame, it's really a lifelong connection with tons of people. It's just something I'm just glad I'm really a part of.”
