Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden gave the latest on his defense following Saturday's scrimmage. 

On the defensive line:
“(Jordan) Botelho, stepping into a bigger role. Junior (Tuihalamaka), stepping into a bigger role. (Joshua) Burnham has done a nice job. Inside, (Jason) Onye has made progress, which is great. (Donovan) Hinish has made progress. There are a bunch of guys battling there. There is still time. There are a couple other guys we need to step up.
