2024 ATH Oliver Miles III Ready to Experience Notre Dame

2024 El Campo (Texas) athlete Oliver Miles III‍ has flown under the radar for most of his recruitment, yet the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is one of the best pure athletes in the country. 

Miles, on Wednesday, won 4A area meet titles in the long jump and triple jump (46' 2") to head to Regionals while also running a leg in the 800 relay that finished in seventh place. It’s also worth noting the El Campo star won a silver medal in the triple jump at the 4A state meet last spring. 

Oh, and Miles succeeds on the track while also doubling up sports as he also plays baseball for the Ricebirds. 

In addition to his spring sports, the Texas native is a key member of the basketball team and now holds eight offers to play football at the next level. 

As a sophomore, Miles ran for 743 yards while passing for 237 and accounting for nine touchdowns. He also recorded three interceptions on defense. 

Notre Dame offered on March 1st and Miles will make time in his busy schedule for a visit to South Bend on Friday. It will be Miles’ first look at Notre Dame and it’s a visit he’s been looking forward to taking after visits to Houston, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt earlier this spring. 

“A great environment around the school,” Miles said when asked what his expectations were for the visit. “And also looking forward to meeting the staff and coaches.” 

Miles also wants to experience the culture of the Irish program and get a feel for Notre Dame’s academics during his time on campus.

Communication between Miles and the coaching staff has remained strong in recent weeks as Chris O’Leary and Chad Bowden have led the charge, which the rising three-star prospect appreciates.

“Good connection,” stated Miles. (The) guys make sure things are good and they keep in touch well.” 

What’s the driving message from Bowden and O’Leary? It’s a simple one. 

“Notre Dame can change a man’s life,” said Miles.
