Recruiting Trends: Cali to ND and Targeting Athletes

Notre Dame has always reached into California for recruits. It's not something new that they have offered prospects from power programs like Mater Dei or St. John Bosco. That will never change.

There was the thought that maybe the Irish would take a hit out west when Mike Denbrock and Mike Sanford left for other jobs. Perhaps if they didn't add staff members with west coast ties, then they might choose to focus elsewhere.

Any notion that it would go that way has now been dispelled.
