2024 DL TJ Lindsey Talks Notre Dame Return

TJ Lindsey‍ was back at Notre Dame on Saturday for the Irish’s Blue-Gold Game and the 2024 Arkansas defensive lineman spoke in detail about the experience with Irish Sports Daily afterward.

"This was my parents' first time on campus, so we did a tour,” Lindsey said.

His parents were impressed with the campus.

"They thought it was a beautiful campus," he said.

After the tour, Lindsey sat down at a restaurant with Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington and assistant defensive line coach Nick Sebastian

"It was just a casual life conversation, just catching up on the time we haven't seen each other," Lindsey said.

The Bryant High School standout appreciates the fact that the Notre Dame coaches don't always talk football.

"Me and especially Coach Wash have developed a relationship that is way deeper than football," said Lindsey, who has a lengthy list of offers from schools like Arkansas, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, USC and Oregon among several others.

When it does come to football, Notre Dame's coaches believe Lindsey could play every position on the defensive line, which is attractive to him.

"It's a pretty big factor,” he said. “I want to show my versatility."

Despite the weather conditions, Lindsey enjoyed the atmosphere of the spring game.

"It was pretty crazy for the conditions,” he said. “It was hailing and freezing, and there was still a pretty decent amount of fans in there and they were loud."

Lindsey’s flight arrived late, so he didn’t get a chance to meet with head coach Marcus Freeman this weekend, but that didn’t seem to be a huge concern of his.

Lindsey has a couple more visits to make before cutting down his list of potential schools.

At this point, Lindsey's overall feelings about Notre Dame seem positive and he notes, "Coach Wash is really what keeps them in contention with me."
