Notre Dame went on an offer spree last week and 2018 McDonogh 35 (La.) receiver Lawrence Keys III picked up an offer from the Irish. The 6-foot, 170-pounder called the opportunity to play for Notre Dame blessing after receivers coach Del Alexander spoke with him.
“Coach Alexander offered me,” Keys told Irish Sports Daily. “He let me know about Notre Dame. He talked about how he was excited to tell me about the facilities, academics, and the football program.”
“I was excited,” Keys said of the offer. “I watched Notre Dame a lot when Will Fuller was there. I don’t know much about Notre Dame. I plan on taking a trip up there. I don’t know when or the dates yet, but once I get up there, I want to find out more about everything.”
Speaking of visits, the New Orleans native has been to LSU but he is looking forward to a trip this week to a program on the rise.
“I have been LSU and Auburn,” he explained. “That’s about it so far. This Wednesday, I will be leaving to go to Texas. I will go to a couple schools out there too.
“I am looking to build relationships with the coaches and touring the campus. I want to see what it’s like on campus.”
When you watch Key’s film, it’s quite obvious there are few faster with the ball in his hands but the speedster believes he has the whole package.
“I have good hands and speed,” stated Keys. “I am quick and I have the ability to turn up the field quickly. The majority of schools are recruiting me in the slot.”
Finally, when it comes to LSU, Keys definitely knows most feel he is going to LSU, but he is open to other schools more than people think.
“I’d say I am looking at other schools too,” said Keys. “It’s great to have an offer from LSU and it’s great to play at home but I have been looking at other schools too.”

The four-star prospect admitted he didn’t know a lot about Notre Dame but it’s a school he has watched quite a bit over the last few years. Keys also added a visit is likely in the works and he is looking forward to learning more when he gets to South Bend. “I was excited,” Keys said of the offer. “I watched Notre Dame a lot when Will Fuller was there.
