Grant Brix‍ had a great time during his visit to Notre Dame this weekend .

"I liked it a lot," Brix told Irish Sports Daily. "It's obviously a really beautiful campus. It's a really, really strong football program and really good academics."

The 2024 Iowa offensive lineman has received scholarship offers from schools like Notre Dame, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Oregon, Miami, Stanford, Wisconsin and Tennessee among others.

He didn't get much time with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, but was able to meet with offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, which was one of the primary reasons he wanted to make the visit in the first place.

"It went really good,” he said of his meeting with Rudolph. “I think I got a really good feel for Coach Rudolph and I can't wait to keep building that relationship.

“He's had some really, really good football players who he's developed. I think he's really, really good at explaining information and dissecting it and helping kids understand it."

According to Brix, Coach Rudolph thinks Brix would be a good fit at Notre Dame both on and off the field.

"He said he really likes how I play football,” Brix explained. “But he also thinks that off the field, as a person, I'd also be a good fit."

The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder enjoyed the atmosphere of the Blue-Gold Game and – unlike most - saw the weather as a positive.

"I thought it was great,” he said. “I actually kind of enjoyed the weather. It was kind of fun. I really liked how they played fast. It was fun to watch. Just seeing them battling the conditions was awesome too."

The Logan-Magnolia High School standout has been busy with spring unofficial visits to schools like Minnesota, Iowa State, Tennessee, Penn State, Michigan State, and Nebraska in preparation for the next stage of his process.

"The reason I took all these spring visits was to figure out where I want to take some official visits," Brix said. "What I'm going to do is kind of give it a little time and then I'm going to decide where I'm going to take my official visits.

“If Notre Dame is one of those, then an official visit it would be."

Brix hopes to make a final decision before his senior season, but won't rush into anything.

"I want to make a decision before my senior season, but if I don't feel like it's the right time to make that, then I will wait.”
