2025 PA DE Sharlandiin Strange Talks Notre Dame Offer
Sharlandiin Strange was surprised and excited when he received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame after defensive line coach Al Washington visited Cheltenham High School last week.
"It's always a dream come true chasing your dreams and getting stuff that you dreamed for," the 2025 Pennsylvania defensive end said.
"It's Notre Dame. Not everybody gets Notre Dame because you've got to really have a great talent and be different. He thought I was different and he offered me."
The Notre Dame staff has been impressed with what they’ve seen from the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder on film, the passion with which he plays along with his frame.
"They like that I'm just aggressive, very aggressive,” said Strange. “Very aggressive and very tall, got some good height to me."
But it's not just his physical attributes that make Strange stand out.
Coaches also appreciate his personality and coachability.
"Other people don't want it,” he said. “I want it all the time. Because of stuff I've been through, I need it.
"I'm a team player. Say if a linebacker goes down and they need a linebacker and one is trying to step up, I'm going to step up. I've showed that I'm very coachable."
And for Strange, finding the right college is about more than just football.
"A home first of all,” he said of what he’s looking for in a school. “Somewhere I could just be comfortable."
He’s already visited Penn State, West Virginia, and Rutgers and is looking to visit Notre Dame, Florida and Miami in the future.
Strange is hoping to get to South Bend sometime this summer.
"Most definitely," said Strange, who has been encouraged to visit the “one of a kind” campus.
