2025 CB Mark Zackery Fired Up About Notre Dame Offer

It’s already been a busy month for Mark Zackery IV‍.

Since May 1st, the 2025 Indiana cornerback has picked up offers from USC, Iowa, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Tennessee and Minnesota to go with offers he already had from schools like Indiana, Purdue, Penn State, Cincinnati and Duke among others.

The Indianapolis native acknowledged the offer from the Irish meant a lot.

“I'm an Indiana guy, so getting the offers from IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame are very exciting to me just because I've grown up here my whole life and I've watched the programs, obviously on TV and things like that,” Zackery says.

“I've been to Notre Dame against Clemson last year and saw what they were capable of doing. So it was definitely exciting, getting this offer.”

Zackery learned of the offer during a talk with Irish cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens on May 5th.

“He seemed like a great guy,” Zacker says of Mickens. “It was my first time getting to have an actual conversation with him. We previously talked at camp, but it was quick and brief. He said, they offer more than just football, how to be a man, what the degree can do for you, and it's beyond football. But they obviously get the football thing done too.

“We didn't talk too much about that, but he definitely is interested in me and we're going to keep in touch.”

The Ben Davis High School standout expects to return to South Bend in the coming months.

“He talked about me coming there to take a visit or camp,” Zackery explains. “So, I'm planning to set something up for this summer. More than likely in June I'll take a visit where I'll go for the camp and then we'll do something from here.”

He’s looking forward to beginning to build relationships with people throughout the program, including coaches and players.

“Just getting a feel for everybody and seeing more of the campus,” he says. “Last time I went for the game for camp, it was only the football portion, so just getting a feel for the whole university and not just the football portion.”

In addition to South Bend, Zackery is planning trips to Cincinnati, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee this summer.
