Bodie Kahoun Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame has landed a second linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class as Patrick Henry (Va.) linebacker Bodie Kahoun has given his pledge to the Fighting Irish.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder visited South Bend twice in the spring after picking up an offer, including for the Blue-Gold game in April, which likely sealed the deal as it went exactly how he expected the visit to go.
“No surprises,” Kahoun told ISD in April. “The visit confirmed everything we experienced last time.”
Where does Kahoun fit into the Irish defense?
Notre Dame’s staff sees him fitting into a role similar to JD Bertrand.
“They said I play a lot like him and they see me playing like him and me filling his shoes,” Kahoun said. “We're about the same size, same height. We move the same. We both have the speed, so yeah, I see the resemblance a lot.”
During his two visits, Kahoun found a fit on the field, but perhaps the fit off the field mattered just as much as he’ll have a chance to play lacrosse at Notre Dame and get a quality degree.
“They have done a good job of developing a personal relationship,” explained Kahoun. “Their message is that I am a good fit for them as a student-athlete and their locker room and can make an impact.”
The Irish coaching staff has impressed many recruits in person and Kahoun was no different dating back to his first trip to campus.
“They were all great,” Kahoun said. “It was finally good to finally have a conversation in person. They're all exactly what I expected. They're all very easy to talk to, friendly and easygoing.”
Kahoun will return to Notre Dame for his official visit on June 9th.
